President: Allie Stone (COM, '11)
Allie Stone is a film student from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She has never eaten a Philly Cheesesteak, but she hopes to eat one someday. She has a lot experience with organizing things such as parades, charity events, and some music gigs. Her favorite event last year was Relay for Life, which she also organized. Allie spends most of her free time watching movies and listening to music (sometimes at the same time!). She aspires to one day write a movie that lots of people will enjoy and talk about until the end of time. Her favorite music includes Frightened Rabbit, A Tribe Called Quest, Bon Iver, Pavement, Tally Hall, Britney Spears, Ellie Goulding and The Cool Kids. Her heroes include Kevin Smith, Quentin Tarantino, Jean Luc Godard, and Batman. You should talk to her about your life, because she likes to listen. She also dearly hopes that one day everyone at BU will be a member of the Music Business and Performance Club and there will be instruments anyone can use and enjoy at their leisure.
You can learn more about Allie by finding her on the street, offering a high five, finding her on Facebook or Twitter, or just reading this blog consistently.
Vice President: Conor Loughman (COM '10)
Conor is a serious person with serious ideas. In November 2007 he founded a no-nonsense record label called Base Trip Records with the help of his mute sidekick, Templeton. In the summer of 2008 he served as an apprentice with Amalgam Digital, a hip-hop record label/independent music retailer. After toiling strenuously and stuffing his head full of ideas, Conor started working on Base Trip Records full time. In Fall 2008 he founded the Music Entrepreneurs Club, which was similar to the MBPC except that meetings and events were infrequent and club organization was non-existent. Conor is now keenly aware of his limitations and incredibly grateful to Allie and the rest of the E-Board for all their help and support. He is also a part-time eunuch.
Treasurer: Molly Savard (COM '13)
Molly Savard, known for her grammar insanity and love of cats, is a femme fatale with a firm handshake and a penchant for meeting celebrities. (Kidding about the femme fatale part. The second and third things are true, especially the second thing, because she has disproportionately large hands). She went to high school, and now goes to college. She plays piano, alto saxophone, is learning guitar, and sings, usually all at once. She would like to be in a rockin’ band someday soon. She enjoys fine things. You can find her sitting in the back of the room at MBPC meetings, judging you.
